Craig Aman is retiring as MACC’s CEO as we welcome Brian Thomas

As I reflect on my last 25 years in the telecom industry, I am blessed to be part of the telecom family. We have built many strong relationships over the years, and I have come to think of you as friends. I would like to thank you for your continued trust in MACC as your vendor partner. When our doors opened in 1975, we were very intentional about bringing proven solutions to your companies. Our goal was to help improve the day-to-day work efforts of your team so you can focus on important things, like growing your business.

Many of you know that I announced MACC was acquired by Harris Computer on October 1, 2022. Harris’ buy and hold forever philosophy was a main factor for my decision to sell MACC to Harris Computer. The Harris core values align with our values, which is why I believe the philosophical similarities between MACC and Harris assured me Harris would continue to be your trusted partner for years to come. Harris believes in building and maintaining enduring organizations supported by the core values, exceptional people, operational excellence, and growth. This is how they can buy and hold forever.

As we are approaching the 1-year anniversary of the acquisition, I am happy to report Harris is following through on all their commitments. I am especially excited about the vision for the future of MACC products and services. Based upon my confidence in MACC’s future, I have decided now is a good time to start a new chapter in life. Effective September 30, 2023, I am going to hang up my telecommunications hat and enjoy retirement myself! While I will miss interacting with my friends in the telecommunication industry, I am very much looking forward to spending more time with my family.

Lastly, I’m pleased to introduce Brian Thomas as MACC’s new Executive Vice President. Brian has extensive Harris portfolio experience in several industries with his roots in rural communities. I’m confident you are in good hands given his experience and background. Please welcome him into the MACC family – he is hitting the ground running and I am excited to see where he takes MACC in the very near future!

Join your peers at next month’s MBTC

MBTC is quickly approaching and we don’t want you to miss out on the fun (well, we’ll have a bunch of learning opportunities too, so I guess that’s an important part of the conference)!

Almost 150 of you have already signed up to participate in the conference, and another 60 of you have signed up for the paid training classes we are offering – and we can’t wait to see you, no matter what your participation level. I personally think MBTC is an important even for MACC’s customers, because we provide so much information to you that you might not have a chance to get anywhere else.

In last month’s newsletter, I mentioned we are having peer-to-peer sessions and I just want to reiterate how much benefit you will get from these! Sitting in a room, hearing from people who understand your day-to-day challenges, and listening to how they’ve had success with different products and services is invaluable. We also have sessions to show you how to customize welcome or change-of-service videos for YOUR customers, introduce payment kiosks to you, discuss our latest mapping functionality, and much, much more.

We’ve worked really hard to put together an informative program that will bring you the most benefit for a 2 ½ day conference, so we hope you are able to carve time out of your schedule to attend.

Maintenance Sunday – August 13
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Central) on Sunday, August 13, our technicians will conduct maintenance on our network. During this time, web-based services from MACC may be unavailable. This affects MSaaS and all MACC websites (Web Reporting, TMS, FTP, etc.) as well as online access to customer statements. Going forward, MACC will be scheduling network maintenance during the same timeframe on the second Sunday of each month.
