Take my number…I don’t need it anymore

We know there are times when your customers may want to simply transfer their phone number to another family member, roommate, or business owner. It sounds simple … just change the name on the MACC Customer Master billing account, but that is not what should be done.

The billing account has lots of personal history associated with it that should never be available to others. Payment processing information that has been set up with an account through CDS Global is another example of private information that cannot just have a name change. Of course, a legal name change of the original account owner would be an exception.

So you ask, what should we do? Always create a New Account in these situations. We know it’s not the “shortcut” way, but it is the correct thing to do. All parties keep their personal information private and the new account holder starts with a clean slate. And if the new account holder wants a payment account with CDS Global, they’ll be all set.
