There is a new page on MACC’s Client Central with ideas and artwork templates your company can use to increase paperless billing adoption rates. We’re calling it the Paperless Billing Hub and it’s fitting its launch coincides with Earth Day this month as the “Hub’s” content can help your company save some green…both in terms of trees and money.

Converting customers to paperless billing is one of the easiest ways your company can reduce costs as its postage expense will decrease for every account that makes the switch. Consistently advertise paperless billing with statement-based advertising
People are busy so it’s easy for them to miss the first, second, third, fourth, etc. message about paperless billing. For this reason, it’s important to consistently advertise paperless billing once you start to push its adoption as it can takes months before significant results appear.

Offer targeted incentives
Offering a small incentive, such as a $5 one-time bill credit, can be all it takes to get many consumers to use paperless billing.

Get your website in on the action
Paperless billing and your website go hand in hand. If your website has a form for new customers to request services, give them the opportunity to choose to receive their bills via e-mail. Based on real world results, we’ve found an average of 60 percent of new customers will go for the paperless option. Imagine the cost savings if you could reduce your postage expense by 60 percent!
